BOUTIQUE HOTEL, PRIVATE TOWNHOUSE OR
DESIGN DOMICILE?
Put very simply, Berlin’s BRANDENBURGER HOF is all of the above and much more: exclusive as a boutique belonging to one of the great French couturiers; personal as the reception in a well-kept household; classically modern thanks to the skilful choice of international designers. However the effect is not stiff or pretentious, instead it is lively, artistic, fresh and confident – for people who like to surround themselves with the most beautiful things in life.
Proprietor Daniela Sauter has created a house full of personality, the perfect fusion of Prussian handcraft, Asian lightness and the ideals of the Bauhaus era. Here you will find furniture by Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer; you will see softer forms and stronger colours come into play: and around the Japanese garden spectacular objects by Edra and Moroso catch the eye. These pieces are complemented by beautiful artwork from the owner’s collection. You will discover masterpieces by the Surrealist Ernst Fuchs, oil paintings from Soviet times, ink paintings by Lovis Corinth and Arthur Kampf and contemporary works by Salustiano, Mariana Vassileva and Tatsumi Orimoto, all of which transform each room into a sparkling jewel.
