A TREASURE TROVE OF GERMAN WINES

The story of our wine menu began at the end of 2001 when we decided to experiment just once by listing only German wines–not out of patriotism, but because we were curious about how the menu would compare… Would ‘our’ wines hold their own next to their famous French brothers? Many visits to the wine cellars of Germany followed the decision. Countless bottles were sampled, many discussions were held and the final result was a menu that represented not only the diversity but especially the potential of German wine varieties so brilliantly that many resolute opinions were turned upon their heads: Because German wine absolutely retains the international standard that made it famous at the beginning of last century.

Today we stock over 950 varieties in our cellar. We have a special eye for white wines with pronounced terroir and the latest accomplishments in red wine; however, we also preserve delicious Riesling gold from the great vintage years including 1976, 1959, 1937 and 1911. Not everybody likes to share in this passion, but for the pleasure-seeking gourmets among us, many inconceivable and often overwhelming taste sensations await in the interplay between our fine wines and Sebastian Völz's QUADRIGA cuisine.
